San Francisco Waldorf School (SFWS) was founded in 1979 and serves 380 students across a Preschool-12th Grade program. The high school campus is in the lovely West Portal neighborhood and easily accessible by public transit. Responsibilities Include Provide instruction and maintain the classroom environment as outlined in the lesson plans provided by the primary teacher. Foster a supportive and engaging learning atmosphere for students Maintain a sense of continuity and stability within the classroom Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administration Manage classroom behavior in a positive and respectful manner Academic Areas Of Support 9th grade: Algebra 1, Honors Algebra 2 10th grade: Geometry, Honors Geometry 11th grade: Algebra 2, Honors Precalculus 12th grade: AP Calculus, Honors Statistics Qualifications General STEM background - preferred Interest in Waldorf teaching methodologies Enthusiasm and Flexibility High School Teaching experience Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to adapt to various teaching environments and grade levels TB Assessment and Livescan Fingerprinting required Compensation Compensation is $55 per hour. This is a part-time, as needed, temporary/short-term, non-exempt position. It carries no benefits other than those available through San Francisco City. This position does not continue during the summer break months. School breaks and Holidays are unpaid. Physical Requirements And Work Environment Be able to occasionally lift to 30 lbs.
