Employee Relations Manager

Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Manager to lead and oversee employee relations initiatives across the organization. This position is responsible for managing complex workplace investigations, advising leadership on employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with employment laws and City policies, and fostering a positive, productive work environment.

The Employee Relations Manager will independently conduct and manage investigations involving workplace misconduct, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, policy violations, and other sensitive employment matters. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to department leaders, coaching managers through performance management issues, employee conflicts, disciplinary actions, and workplace best practices.

In addition, the Employee Relations Manager will develop, facilitate, and deliver employee and leadership training programs related to employee relations, workplace conduct, diversity and inclusion, harassment prevention, and organizational policies. The ideal candidate is a strategic HR professional with strong investigative experience, excellent judgment, and a proven ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Personnel Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.

4-5+ years of progressive Human Resources and Employee Relations experience.

Extensive experience conducting workplace investigations involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, workplace misconduct, and policy violations.

Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.

Experience coaching and advising managers on employee relations matters, conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions.

Demonstrated ability to conduct fair, timely, objective, and well-documented investigations.

Experience creating, facilitating, and delivering employee and management training programs.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentation skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle highly sensitive situations with professionalism.
