Under the general supervision of the Airport Operations Supervisor, provides communication and support to airport employees, tenants, users and customers as well as monitors the airport access control and camera systems.

Essential duties and responsibilities include receiving and responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, processing and evaluating information, monitoring and coordinating airport operations activity, operating multi-channel public safety radio system, answering questions and providing information to the public, monitoring and operating access control system, creating and maintaining accurate logs of airport operations communications activity, coordinating with Airport Police to conduct daily TSA Part 1542 required inspections of badge holders, monitoring weather conditions, documenting wildlife activity and strike incidents, operating a variety of computer, electronic access, surveillance and other equipment, maintaining appropriate security and confidentiality of information, keeping informed of all departmental policies and security/emergency procedures, comprehending and applying city ordinances, policies, and procedures.

Other job functions include performing other duties as assigned or directed, working night, weekend and holiday shifts as scheduled, working overtime as needed, maintaining a professional appearance, and maintaining a professional attitude and clarity of work despite busy or stressful situations.

Knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors include embracing and embodying the City's core values of Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence (R.I.S.E.), communicating effectively with peers, supervisors, subordinates, and people to whom service is provided, producing desired work outcomes, planning and organizing work, time, and resources, learning and applying requirements of 14 CFR Part 139 governing airport certification and airfield safety, understanding and complying with 49 CFR Part 1542 related to airport security programs and access control, learning and adhering to the Airport Security Plan (ASP) and its operational security procedures, understanding and executing responsibilities outlined in the Airport Emergency Plan (AEP), learning, interpreting, and following standards and procedures contained in the Airport Certification Manual (ACM), thinking clearly and acting quickly and calmly in emergency situations, multi-tasking, coordinating simultaneous mental, manual and visual activities, communicating using two-way radio and multi-line telephone system, effectively communicating both orally and in writing, speaking clearly and concisely, effectively working and communicating with co-workers and the general public, and learning the layout of the airport and surrounding areas. Knowledge of computers, word processing and related software is also required.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED supplemented by previous experience in a high public contact/customer service area that required decision making and problem solving under stressful conditions. Prior experience in a multi-task environment involving data entry, phones, customer service, and/or radio communications is preferred. Conditions of employment include passing a drug screen, driving record and background check, having a Class C Texas Driver's License, and passing a TSA-mandated 10-year Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) and Security Threat Assessment (STA).
