About the Company and Senior Accountant Opportunity:

CFS is partnering with a repeat client, a stable non profit in the Columbia area. Due to an upcoming retirement, they will be hiring a Senior Accountant who can eventually move into a Director of Finance position within 5 years or less.
This Senior Accountant role offers flexibility, trust from leadership, and a real seat at the table as the organization plans for the future

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:

Own and prepare monthly and quarterly financials, including P&L reporting
Support and maintain accounting processes, controls, and documentation
Partner with Controller on financial analysis and operational insights
Assist with contracts and related accounting oversight, as applicable
Help streamline, digitize, and improve accounting workflows and systems
Supervise one Accountant

Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:

Bachelors degree in in Accounting, Finance, or similar required. MBA or CPA a plus but not required
4+ years' general accounting experience
Experience working at a non profit a plus
Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software
Proficiency with Excel required
Supervisory experience a plus
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, hybrid schedule in Columbia, MD (3 days in office, 2 days remote)
Salary : $95,000-$120,000 depending on experience
