Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive occupational therapy for acute care inpatients across a wide range of medical and surgical diagnoses (including ICU, stroke/neurological, orthopedics, and general debility).
- Conduct evaluations, develop goal-directed treatment plans, implement interventions, and monitor progress toward functional goals; coordinate discharge planning with the patient and family.
- Document patient care in the Cerner Acute Care OT department and communicate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective care throughout the hospital stay.
- Optimize function for activities of daily living, mobility, and safety; apply modalities and therapeutic techniques appropriate to acute care settings; contribute to mobility and rehab progression.
- Participate in routine interdisciplinary rounds, ensure accurate progress notes, and maintain compliant, timely documentation; manage a caseload consistent with 40 hours per week.
- Schedule includes 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks and required major/minor holiday coverage per assignment policy; adapt to variations in daily start times (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. as needed).

Requirements
- GA licensed Occupational Therapist and NBCOT certification
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an acute care or related specialty
- Experience with Cerner charting in an acute care OT department
- Ability to work in an acute care hospital setting with a variety of diagnoses, including ICU, neurology/stroke, orthopedics, and general debility
- No local candidates within 50 miles of the assignment location (travel requirement)
- Willingness to travel and adhere to assignment schedule, including weekend and holiday coverage
