Automation Engineer

Natera

Automation Engineer role within Natera's Process Engineering Group focused on developing and implementing automation systems for clinical diagnostics laboratory operations. The position involves programming liquid handling robots, designing automation workflows, and supporting cross-functional teams to optimize laboratory processes.

Responsibilities

Program and develop liquid handling robotic systems and automation workflows
Collaborate with scientists and engineers to design and implement process optimization solutions
Create documentation including Standard Operating Procedures, User Requirements, and Testing Procedures
Oversee functional and validation testing including IQ/OQ/PQ activities
Provide user training, troubleshooting, and ongoing support for implemented automation systems

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or related scientific field; Master's preferred
2+ years of laboratory automation engineering experience
Technical proficiency with robotics and liquid handling systems
Computer programming experience required
Strong project management and written/verbal communication skills
Biotech, pharmaceutical, or clinical laboratory experience highly desirable
