Project Engineer - Land Development

We are seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of land development projects from initial feasibility through to construction and completion. This role will suit a technically capable civil engineer with experience in residential, commercial or mixed-use development, who is confident working across design, approvals and project coordination. You will contribute to the delivery of practical, compliant and commercially viable engineering solutions while managing priorities across multiple projects.


Key responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing civil engineering designs for roads, drainage, earthworks, utilities and associated infrastructure; coordinating external consultants, contractors, authorities and other project stakeholders; and assisting with planning, development and construction approvals. You will review technical documentation, drawings, specifications and calculations, identify potential risks or design issues, and support the resolution of engineering queries during construction. The role will also involve preparing project reports, fee proposals, cost estimates and programmes, monitoring progress against agreed objectives, and ensuring work is delivered to appropriate quality, safety, environmental and regulatory standards.


Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering and have relevant experience in land development or a comparable infrastructure environment. Membership of a recognised professional engineering institution, or progress towards professional registration, would be advantageous. You will need strong knowledge of applicable design standards, development approval processes and construction practices, together with proficiency in relevant engineering and design software. Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to build effective working relationships and manage competing deadlines. A proactive approach, commercial awareness and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes will be highly valued.
