Term: Nine, Ten, Eleven, or Twelve Months Salary: Nine, Ten, Eleven, or Twelve Month Teacher Salary Schedule Performance Responsibilities I. Instructional Responsibilities A. Establish learning objectives, daily and weekly lesson plans, with systematic growth in fundamental knowledge, skills, appreciation, and attitudes. B. Teach effectively using: 1) Board‑approved curriculum; 2) varied techniques and materials; 3) differentiated assignments; 4) meaningful homework; 5) frequent evaluations, including teacher‑made tests. C. Provide accommodations for individual differences through grouping, procedures, or individualized instruction. D. Maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning. E. Demonstrate understanding of child development and respect for individuality. F. Exhibit substantial knowledge of subject matter and the curriculum objectives. G. Promote discipline and respect through positive control techniques. H. Use orderly procedures for classroom control and efficient routines. II. Administrative Responsibilities Follow school rules and Rapides Parish School Board regulations. Adhere to time and duty schedule authorized by the principal. Ensure non‑duty personnel report and remain as required. Maintain proper sign‑in/out procedures. Be present in the assigned classroom at period start. Never leave a class unsupervised. Remain at school unless permission is obtained. Attend administrative and professional meetings called by the principal. Notify principal of absences timely and plan return. Follow board‑set guidelines. Maintain a clean classroom. Be responsible for textbooks, desks, furniture, equipment, and materials. Complete required records and reports accurately and timely. Plan and supervise field trips, obtaining necessary permissions and ensuring safety. III. Professional Responsibilities Show enthusiasm and confidence in student growth. Maintain good public relations with parents. Be ethical in contact with all stakeholders. Participate in faculty and system‑wide professional development. Show loyalty to school administration. Develop and execute a professional growth and self‑evaluation plan. Carry out the Performance Expectations and Indicators for Teachers in the NIET rubric. IV. Personal Responsibilities Maintain high standards of conduct inside and outside school. Dress appropriately per dress code. Use respectful language. Maintain self‑control and poise. Maintain good health and physical vitality. Enunciate clearly and use proper English. Adjust to new situations with effectiveness. Accept responsibility for assigned tasks. Maintain attendance except for illness or emergencies. Perform duties assigned by superintendent or evaluator. Follow federal, state, board, and school policies.
