Accounting Manager

RealREPP is partnering with a stable, privately held commercial property management firm to help them add a dynamic Accounting Manager to their team! The company has been in business for over 15 years and offers a tight-knit collaborative culture! This Accounting Manager will operate with full autonomy to handle all aspects of property accounting and financial reporting across the company's 30 assets totaling +2 MSF. Responsibilities Prepare monthly property financial statements, owner reports, P&L statements, variance analyses, and manage the full month-end close process including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations Maintain accurate property general ledgers in AppFolio, ensuring financial data aligns with rent rolls, accounting reports, and reporting requirements Oversee full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice approvals, check runs, collections tracking, mortgage payments, and owner distributions Support budgeting and forecasting efforts, including annual budgets, mid-year reforecasts, expense tracking, and proactive variance reporting Manage CAM reconciliations, management fees, percent rent calculations, lease compliance reviews, rent escalations, and expense recovery billings Monitor portfolio cash management activities, including bank reconciliations, cash flow reporting, wire transfers, ACH payments, and deposits Coordinate tax and compliance activities, including 1099 preparation, CPA support for annual tax filings, and GAAP‑compliant recordkeeping Supervise accounting staff, support process improvements, and serve as the AppFolio accounting lead to enhance workflows, controls, and system integrity Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in; Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of accounting experience in real estate (commercial property management, preferred) Proficient in Excel and AppFolio GAAP knowledge and familiarity with accrual‑based accounting Experience w/ full-cycle AP/AR, month-end, and CAM reconciliations Keen attention to detail, ability to work independently, and excellent communiction Familiarity with commercial lease structures (NNN, gross, modified gross) and CAM reconciliation nuances (preferred) This is a great opportunity for someone with 5+ years of accounting experience, who has prior real estate experience, and is seeking a role that will offer a true work-life balance!
