Cal-a-Vie Health Spa and Château Cal-a-Vie Winery are seeking an in-house full-time Graphic Designer who can take concepts and ideas and create visual representations, in both print and in electronic media. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of current design software and have a strong skillset of the design process, from concept to final deliverable. The Graphic Designer will be collaborating with multiple teams across the resort. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of branding and marketing and be able to find the right style and layout for every project.

Key Attributes

• Well-rounded experience in graphic design, branding/new brand development, photography, advertising, and print production. Website, digital marketing, and email marketing experience a plus.
• Great understanding of visual communication, graphic design, and typography.
• Ability to integrate written and artistic messages so that deliverables provide unified theme.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing schedules and priorities. Must complete projects under pressure in a timely and accurate manner.
• Excellent organizational and follow-through skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented. Excellent at proof-reading and checking for quality standards.
• Ability to work both independently and with a team.
• Positive, enthusiastic, flexible, and capable of thinking outside of the box and bringing new ideas to the table.
• Ability to react quickly to resolve problems or conflict.
• High level of assessment and organizational skills.
• Photography/Videography skills are a plus.
• Hospitality experience a plus.

 

Responsibilities

• Assist in establishing and maintaining professional graphics and identify standards for communications.
• Collaborate and strategize with multiple teams on a wide range of materials that include web pages, presentations, programming collateral, signage, internal communications, and marketing materials.
• Take projects from the initial concept stage and coordinate steps through the completion of the projects.
• Design, develop and maintain electronic media for the web.
• Conceive ideas, concepts, and campaigns; design, produce, work with others and coordinate in the creation of multifaceted communication materials in print and digital mediums for a variety of promotional, development, and marketing projects.
• Take product photos, edit.
• Help develop and implement project organization and image file library for property.
• Create and develop media using digital art and photographic techniques.
• Monitor and track production projects to ensure proper and timely completion; work with outside vendors to meet production deadlines.
• Responsible for print and prepress service specifications, purchasing, approvals and quality control.
• Select and purchase graphic supplies.
• Maintain equipment and supply inventory; maintain accurate files and records.
• Assist Director of Marketing with projects.
• Ensure all health and safety regulations are complied with and report all accidents.
• Attend team meetings and participate in discussions.
• Help develop new programs or procedures to keep us on the cutting edge of the latest trends and technology.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Position Qualifications

 

Education/Certification

A two-year college or trade school degree in graphic art and design; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

 

Knowledge

Mac and PC Knowledge – Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Express, InDesign, Capcut and Photoshop. Advanced experience and knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of digital art, graphic design, and layout; Experience in the techniques of typesetting, color theory, digital printing, and photography; printing processes (including four color process), various types of ink, paper stock, and other supplies used, their characteristics, uses and limitations; electronic desktop publishing equipment and techniques.

 

Experience

Mid to senior level graphic design experience; desktop publishing; project coordination and digital marketing.
