Locums Hospital Medicine Physician

We are seeking a Locums Hospital Medicine Physician for an ongoing opportunity in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. This position is ideal for a physician who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and participating in a collaborative hospital environment.

Position Highlights

7 on / 7 off block schedule

10- and 12-hour shifts available

Physicians must be willing to work 7 consecutive shifts, preferably in blocks of 2 weeks per month

Day and night coverage

16–20 patients per physician per day

2 dedicated nocturnists

Closed ICU

No procedures required

EMR: Meditech

Teaching and mentoring opportunities

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive inpatient hospital medicine care.

Evaluate and manage hospitalized adult patients.

Conduct daily rounds and coordinate treatment plans.

Manage admissions, discharges, and cross-coverage.

Collaborate with specialists, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams.

Participate in medical education and mentor residents/learners.

Engage in hospital operations and quality improvement initiatives.

Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.

Qualifications

Board Certified in Internal Medicine (ABIM) or Family Medicine (ABFM)

Active New Hampshire medical license or ability to obtain

Strong inpatient hospital medicine experience

Interest in teaching and mentoring preferred

Ability to work consecutive 7-day blocks

Comfortable with day, night, and rotating call coverage
