About this Role The Media Partnerships and Investments Analyst will play an integral role within the Media Partnerships and Investments team at Soros Fund Management. The team maintains a dynamic portfolio of digital media and information businesses, including audio and video content brands. As an Analyst, you will be involved in evaluating new investment opportunities and overseeing existing holdings. This dual responsibility involves analyzing potential investments, engaging with portfolio company management, tracking performance, identifying issues, and supporting strategic initiatives. The role requires working closely with a flat-structured, small team, including senior leadership, and necessitates comfort in alternating between financial models and direct conversations with CEOs. Responsibilities Evaluate new investment opportunities in media and communications, including market research, financial modeling, and due diligence. Monitor existing portfolio companies against the investment plan and identify performance variances. Work directly with portfolio company management teams on strategic initiatives covering growth. Track industry dynamics and maintain a current perspective on valuation and competitive positioning. Requirements 3-5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or corporate strategy within media or technology sectors. Strong financial modeling skills with the ability to build models from scratch and justify assumptions. Experience in direct interactions with senior management or clients. Genuine interest in the media industry’s business models and audience engagement strategies. Ability to synthesize complex situations into clear recommendations.
