Cherry Creek Machine is hiring an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to independently set up, run, inspect, and troubleshoot production work on Haas CNC lathes. This is a hands-on, shop-floor position for someone who takes ownership of machine uptime, produces quality parts consistently, and helps keep work moving through the shop. We are a fully climate controlled shop with full benefits, and an employee bonus program.

The right person is not simply a button-pusher. You should be comfortable taking a job from setup through finished-part inspection, making responsible offsets and process adjustments, identifying tooling or program issues, and communicating clearly when something needs attention.

What You’ll Do

• Independently set up and tear down CNC lathe jobs, including workholding, tooling, offsets, and first-piece approval.
• Run assigned production jobs safely and reliably on Haas CNC lathes.
• Minimize machine downtime through efficient setups, organized work practices, proactive tooling preparation, and sound troubleshooting.
• Make routine offsets and on-the-spot process adjustments to maintain part quality and production flow.
• Troubleshoot basic machine, tooling, workholding, and program-related issues independently; escalate larger issues promptly.
• Inspect completed parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other standard precision measurement tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, setup documentation, inspection requirements, and tolerance callouts.
• Maintain accurate job, setup, inspection, and production documentation.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe in support of efficient shop operations.
• Communicate production status, tooling needs, quality concerns, and schedule risks to the Shop Foreman and production team.
• Support coworkers during setups, changeovers, and problem-solving when needed.
• Work the regular first-shift schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime available as workload requires.

Required Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on CNC lathe experience.
• Proven experience independently setting up CNC lathe work; lathe-focused setup experience is required.
• Ability to set tooling, establish offsets, perform first-piece inspection, run production, and make appropriate machining adjustments.
• Experience operating Haas CNC lathes or comparable CNC turning equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and inspect parts to specified tolerances.
• Proficiency using common inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, thread gauges, and height gauges as applicable.
• Reliable attendance, strong follow-through, and a professional approach to safety, quality, and teamwork.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Willingness to provide professional references that can confirm reliability, attendance, technical ability, and shop fit.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to create, edit, prove out, and improve CNC turning programs.
• Strong Haas lathe experience, including familiarity with Haas controls and common alarms or recovery procedures.
• Experience with tool life management, workholding selection, cycle-time improvement, and reduction of setup time.
• Experience mentoring less-experienced operators or helping teammates improve setup and inspection practices.
• Familiarity with 5S, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or other shop-floor efficiency practices.

Compensation

• Base pay: $24–$29 per hour, depending on CNC lathe setup experience and demonstrated capability.
• Bonus Plan : Monthly bonus plan based on shop revenue.
• Total potential pay range: $26–$30 per hour, depending on qualifications.
• Overtime is often available and paid at applicable overtime rates.
• This is a direct-hire, full-time position.
