6G Pipe Welder – MIG Root / Stick Fill

Location: Tulsa, OK
Pay: Up to $32 DOE
Shift: Typically Monday–Friday, OT as needed

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced 6G Pipe Welder to perform high-quality welds using MIG (GMAW) for root passes and Stick (SMAW) for fill and cap. The ideal candidate will have strong pipe fitting and welding skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering welds that meet industry and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform MIG root passes on carbon steel pipe to code standards.

• Complete fill and cap passes using Stick welding (SMAW process).

• Weld pipe in fixed 6G positions (45-degree angle, pipe does not rotate).

• Interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding procedure specifications (WPS).

• Inspect welds visually and repair defects as needed.

• Set up and operate welding machines and equipment safely and efficiently.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to all safety standards.

• Collaborate with fitters and supervisors to complete projects on time.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience welding in 6G position preferred.

• Strong proficiency with MIG (GMAW) and Stick (SMAW) welding processes.

• Ability to pass a 6G weld test (visual and bend test).

• Familiarity with pipe fitting practices and basic math skills.

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in standing, kneeling, and overhead positions.
