AMER Presales Electrical Engineer – Vertiv Join Vertiv as AMER Presales Electrical Engineer in our Infrastructure Solutions team and play a key role in shaping the future of cutting‑edge modular solutions for data centers, industrial facilities, and critical infrastructure at scale. This is an opportunity to lead the way in developing innovative, sustainable, and functional structural designs that support the rapidly evolving needs of AI‑driven technologies and next‑generation data center environments. You’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team of engineering experts during the early engagement phases of customer programs, leveraging and supporting emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and advanced data analytics to support next‑level solutions. You will contribute to groundbreaking projects that transform how the world builds and deploys high‑performance infrastructure for leading global IT and tech companies. Responsibilities Read and understand RFP and tender documents Understand customer requirements provided by Solution Architects and Sales team Concept design of electrical system architecture and equipment Understand relevant codes and standards for electrical power equipment and installations Perform CAD modeling Coordinate with other technical disciplines (architectural, structural, HVAC, controls, fire protection) Technical project coordination with customers and suppliers Communicate with customers to propose the best solution Create technical proposals for Vertiv modular/hybrid solutions data centers Provide electrical design documents Problem‑solve and interpret customer requirements in proposed solutions Support Sales and Solution Architects Qualifications Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering Proficient in electrical power system design 3+ years of experience Good CAD capabilities including the ability to represent layouts and electrical schematic diagrams, as well as specifics of custom electrical sub‑systems associated with Uninterruptable Power Supplies, DC systems, LV and MV power distribution systems, diesel gensets Dimensioning and specification of electrical equipment and installations Knowledge of short‑circuit and protection coordination study calculations and modeling tools Solution‑based thinking that incorporates a multitude of mechanical and electrical components in end‑customer deployment Solid written and oral communication skills to work across multiple engineering and manufacturing teams PC skills: active user of Windows, MS Office (Excel, Word), AutoCAD Fluent in English Physical & Environmental Demands N/A Time Travel Required N/A Equal Opportunity Employer Vertiv is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
