About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Director, Associate General Counsel to play a pivotal role in the strategic and legal aspects of long-term bank partnerships and deal execution. The successful candidate will be the primary legal interface for institutional partners, leading the due diligence and onboarding process, and managing the ongoing legal strategy and relationship. This role requires a hands-on approach to structuring, drafting, and negotiating complex agreements, as well as acting as a subject matter expert on consumer lending regulations. The ideal candidate will have 8-15 years of legal experience, with a focus on consumer credit, retail banking, or lending partnerships, and a deep understanding of US consumer credit and lending regulations. Key responsibilities for this role at the company include championing data protection and privacy strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance in AI-driven underwriting, and providing ongoing functional leadership within the legal function. The candidate should have a strong background in financial data protection, privacy, and intellectual property safeguarding, and be adept at translating complex regulatory concepts into actionable business strategies. The role is highly suited for a senior legal professional with a background in consumer banking or fintech/lending partnerships, who is looking for a more direct impact and the opportunity to help scale a rapidly growing business.
