Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Austin, Texas.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Telemetry\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/11/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Days, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 11, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Cardiac Telemetry unit requiring 1+ years of cardiac experience and a TX or compact RN license.Details\n \n Work in a 30-bed Acute Care Cardiac Telemetry unit within a Stepdown Intermediate Care setting\n Care for patients with chest pain, congestive heart failure, advanced heart failure, and syncope\n Support patients undergoing echocardiograms, stress tests, and diagnostic/interventional heart catheterization\n Care for patients undergoing procedures such as Mitraclip, Watchman, Tykosyn initiation, and TAVR\n Unit may overflow to include general med/surg or non-cardiac patients as needed\n Day shift schedule from 06:45-19:15\n 13-week assignment\n Primary floating assignment to one of five acute care med/surg units typically staffed at 5:1 ratios\n Requirements\n \n Active TX or compact RN license required\n Current BLS and ACLS certification through the AHA\n Minimum 1 year of RN experience required\n Cardiac-trained experience strongly preferred\n Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start\n Must provide full SSN, DOB, driver's license copy, 2 separate references, skills checklist, and license/certification verification for consideration\n Additional Information\n \n Provide direct care for patients with significant cardiac disease history and related conditions\n Opportunity to help stabilize staffing on a unit being reimagined with new core staff\n May be asked to precept and train new hires, including RN residents, so a willingness to mentor others is valued\n Accepts local candidates, though pay rate may be reduced based on a facility-specific radius rule\n First-time travelers may be considered depending on cardiac experience level\n Encouraged to discuss potential contract extensions with unit management at least 45 days before assignment end date\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-755669.
