About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Activities Director to join our team at Palms Care Center in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida . As an integral member of our staff, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by developing and implementing engaging activities that cater to their unique interests and abilities. Our Activities Director will be responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that fosters socialization, entertainment, and overall well-being.

Responsibilities
• Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program that caters to the diverse needs and interests of our residents
• Collaborate with nursing staff to identify and address the social, emotional, and cognitive needs of residents
• Plan and execute activities that promote socialization, entertainment, and education, including arts and crafts, games, outings, and special events
• Recruit and supervise activity assistants and volunteers to support the activities program
• Maintain accurate records of activities, including attendance, feedback, and program evaluations
• Stay current with industry developments and best practices in activity programming
• Participate in facility-wide meetings and contribute to the development of interdepartmental initiatives

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Gerontology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum1year of experience in activity programming for seniors
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of adult day care, sub-acute care, and rehabilitation services
