Lead Software Engineer - Java - Wealth Management

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus 5+ years of applied experience.
• We need proven hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and production operational stability.
• We require advanced Java expertise for enterprise backend development, along with strong experience building services with Spring Boot or similar Java frameworks.
• We need working knowledge of microservices, REST APIs, and both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• We require practical experience with Kafka, IBM MQ, Kubernetes, Redis, Amazon MSK, and AWS services to build scalable and efficient systems.
• We need experience producing technical documentation and service APIs using Swagger/OpenAPI, with strong logging, auditability, security, and monitoring practices.
• We require hands-on cloud-native AWS experience, including building, deploying, and operating services in cloud environments.
• We need demonstrated experience leading the effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools, with clear standards for validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• We require a strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations.
• We need the ability to solve design and functionality issues independently with minimal oversight.
• JavaScript or TypeScript experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with trading systems and exposure to the FIX protocol are a plus.

• We execute inventive software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting, by thinking beyond routine approaches to solve complex technical problems.
• We develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
• We drive adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, while establishing validation standards and encouraging reuse of effective patterns.
• We apply knowledge of SDLC tools, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value delivered through automation.
• We identify opportunities to remove or automate fixes for recurring issues to improve the stability of software applications and systems.
• We lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and fit within existing systems and information architecture.
