Location: Avera Queen of Peace Hospital Worker Type: Regular Work Shift: Rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays Pay Range: $30.50 - $48.00 per hour (dependent on experience) Job Overview This is a full‑time Registered Nurse (RN) position open to new graduates. It provides an opportunity to begin a nursing career while receiving mentorship and support. Responsibilities Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions, communicating the nursing care plan, coordinating with other health‑care providers, and offering physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends. Develop nursing care plans: obtain medical histories, examine patients, document physical condition, psychological status, and social factors, confer with family, formulate a nursing diagnosis, establish care objectives, and define interventions, schedules, and timetables. Teach patient, family, and friends about care goals, condition, medications, and self‑care skills; answer questions and provide information and resources. Evaluate patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes, reviewing records, noting changes, re‑evaluating objectives, and modifying the care plan as needed. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy care environment by following infection‑control policies, medication administration and storage procedures, controlled substance regulations, organizational standards, and legal regulations; alert others of potential concerns. Document patient care services through charting in patient and department records. Keep patient‑care equipment operating by following instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs. Ensure supplies are ready by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and restocking items. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities as outlined by leadership. Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of practice. Ability to work the specified hours and perform each essential job function, including adequate visual acuity and effective communication skills. Preferred: 1–3 years of clinical experience.
