Caldwell was recognized in the 2026 Chambers USA. Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and analytical Part-Time Law Clerk . In this role, you will work closely with partners and associates in support of various practice areas. It's a great opportunity to learn new domains and gain experience with different legal services. This position is ideally suited for postgraduates, or current law students (1L, 2L, 3L, or evening division), LL.M. candidates. Key Responsibilities include: Corporate Transactional Support: Assist corporate attorneys with mergers, acquisitions, venture financings, and entity formations with coordinating tasks, preparing documents and initial drafts, administrative filings and tracking. Trademark Portfolio & Patent process: Support trademark and patent attorneys in managing domestic and global portfolios. Conduct preliminary trademark clearance searches and in commercial databases; draft client reporting letters, and administrative filing support. Support IP teams with Patent database maintenance, USPTO process tasks, and correspondence. Legal Research: Assist with conducting statutory, regulatory, and case law research using LexisNexis, Westlaw, and state administrative portals on emerging corporate governance, commercial law, and trademark issues. Draft concise, objective research memoranda. Administrative Department Support: Maintain master transactional closing checklists, trademark docketing calendars, business development support and BD tracker updates, and client file organization. Qualifications & Experience Current enrollment in an ABA accredited J.D. or LL.M. program; work experience in a law firm setting preferred. Strong academic record; participation in law review, journals, moot court, or business law societies is preferred. Exceptional written and oral communication skills; meticulous attention to detail; ability to manage multiple overlapping closing deadlines with composure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat Pro, and familiarity with legal research engines (Westlaw/Lexis). Experience with iManage or PATTSY WAVE is a plus.
