Make a real impact supporting young learners as a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year. This full-time contract opportunity is Oakland, supporting students in a K-2 Special Day Class setting. This role will allow you to bring your expertise to a collaborative team of fellow dedicated educational professionals.

Required Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching Certification in Moderate/Severe or Extensive Support Needs (ESN)
• Passion for differentiated instruction and individualized learning plans
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills
• Adaptable, patient, and proactive approach to teaching
• Experience teaching in an autism only classroom preferred
• Familiarity with TeachTown and TEACCH a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging lessons that align with individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that supports academic and social growth
• Work closely with support staff, therapists, and families
• Track and assess student progress, making instructional adjustments as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to special education policies and procedures
