Job Title: Patient Registrar
Location: Flushing, NY 11355
Shift: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (Mon-Fri)
Duration: 13 weeks with a strong possibility of further extension
Pay range: $20-23/hr.
Key Responsibilities:
• Register patients accurately and efficiently in the system
• Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, and required documentation
• Schedule patient appointments and update records as needed
• Enter data with speed and accuracy while maintaining confidentiality
• Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and staff regarding registration and scheduling needs
• Assist with insurance verification and benefit-related inquiries
Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum 1 year of appointment scheduling/clerical experience in a medical office setting
• Data entry skills of 4500 keystrokes per hour required
• Strong telephone, computer, and keyboarding skills
• Knowledge of health insurance benefits and requirements
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with EPIC
• Familiarity with ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding
• Prior patient registration or medical scheduling experience
