Outreach & Fundraising Intern (CSLP FWS)

Position Summary Grand Canyon University (GCU) maintains relationships with nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations that improve the quality of life for community residents in the Phoenix Valley. GCU partners with Angels on Patrol, located in Downtown Phoenix, to help families move from crisis to stability by providing safety, basic needs, and connecting them to community resources. The CSLP student worker’s schedule depends on Angels on Patrol’s hours of operation. Students may not work more than 20 hours per week during the academic year (fall/spring). Eligible students may work during the summer (May‑August). This position is approved as a Community Service Learning Program (CSLP) under 34 CFR 675.2(b) and is open to non‑GCU community members. All FWS and FWS‑CSLP applicants must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at to be considered for federal work‑study and funding. Primary Responsibilities Create and publish marketing materials for social media platforms and organization events. Attend youth and community enrichment events to assist with general operations. Organize and complete donation solicitation letters and requests. Assist with donor relation campaigns and efforts. Perform other duties as assigned. Work Hours and Schedule Students may work up to 20 hours per week during the academic year. Summer employment is available from May to August. Pay is set to the minimum wage. Equipment and Supervisory Responsibilities Equipment: MS Office Suite. No supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications Enthusiastic about helping others and committed to service. Strong ethics, integrity, and sense of responsibility. Reliable transportation. Previous mentoring experience is a plus. Ability to speak a second language is a plus. Current enrollment at GCU in an undergraduate or graduate program full‑time (fall/spring) or half‑time (summer) and maintaining needed GPA (2.0 for undergraduates, 3.0 for graduates) and standing.
