About the role

You’ll run the systems behind how our orders become cash, and you’ll be the person every team turns to when those systems get in their way. You’ll partner with leaders across Operations, Supply Chain, Transportation, Finance, and Sales to understand how they work, then orchestrate the process end to end so it runs cleanly from purchase order to cash collected.

We’re a fast-growing refrigerated food brand. Co-manufacturers make our products, and a national cold-storage 3PL ships them to grocery, club, and distributor partners. NetSuite is our core system. Around it we run SPS Commerce for EDI, Turvo for transportation (connected to NetSuite through Coneksion), HighRadius for accounts receivable, and MODIS for forecasting, with integrations to our warehouse and transportation partners. We also run our own monitoring and automation tools, including AI-assisted triage.

You’ll partner with the COO, who leads systems architecture and internal tool development. You’ll own how those systems are run, configured, adopted, and kept healthy day to day. You’ll lead an EDI & Integrations Specialist, and you’ll direct our NetSuite and EDI partners. You’ll also work with the COO to choose the next workflows to automate with AI and make sure teams adopt them.

What you’ll own

ENTERPRISE APPLICATIONS

• Own our enterprise applications and the integrations between them, with NetSuite as your main focus: configuration and release, access and permissions, vendors, and right-sized licenses at each renewal. That covers every system named above and any we add.

NETSUITE FUNCTIONAL OWNERSHIP

• Configuration, workflows, saved searches, roles and permissions, and release management, including NetSuite’s two releases a year.
• Sandbox and testing discipline.
• Direct partner developers on build work. Know when a configuration change is the answer and when to escalate to a design decision.

CHANGE CONTROL

• Chair a weekly cross-functional change review for NetSuite configuration and scripts, our other enterprise applications, integrations, and EDI provider changes.
• Business owners decide process and data rules. You own configuration and release. Architecture decisions and unresolved conflicts go to the COO and the leadership team.

VISIBILITY AND FINANCIAL IMPACT

• Build and own a clear view of what system and process failures cost us: EDI exceptions, retailer chargebacks and deductions, compliance fines, and the staff time spent on rework.
• Tie every recurring issue to its frequency, dollar impact, root cause, and owner.
• Partner with Finance to trace deductions to their source and recover what’s recoverable.
• Report it weekly with our order-to-cash and EDI metrics to Operations, Finance, and Sales, so the work with the largest cost gets done first.
• Teach teams to size a problem in business terms before they ask for a fix.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL PARTNERSHIP AND END-TO-END PROCESS

• Partner with each functional leader to understand what their team needs to do its job well, the tools they rely on, and where those tools slow them down.
• Run order-to-cash as one process, so every handoff between teams and systems has an owner, a measure, and documentation.
• Map and standardize the process with the people who own each part:
• Customer Operations and Supply Chain: order rules and warehouse instructions
• Finance: pricing, invoicing, and close
• Sales: customer terms
• Be our subject-matter expert on how our systems work. When a team has a problem, you help solve it or route it with a clear recommendation.

CHANGE MANAGEMENT

• Lead every significant system and process change from start to finish: build the case, bring stakeholders along, train, and follow through until the new way sticks.
• Spot workarounds (side spreadsheets, manual re-keying, off-system approvals) and replace them with the supported path.
• Keep documentation in use, and make the right way the easy way.

PRIORITIZATION

• Own a single, transparent priority list across system requests, fixes, and projects, ranked by business impact and effort.
• Triage competing requests, explain the trade-offs, and say “not now” with a reason.
• Keep leadership aligned on what’s in flight, what’s next, and why. Bring issues to the COO with the evidence and a recommendation.

EDI AND PARTNERS

• Own the EDI provider relationship.
• Own the trading-partner onboarding playbook and retailer compliance programs.
• Lead the EDI & Integrations Specialist, who runs daily operations and maintains our EDI tools.

VENDORS

• Hold our software vendors, NetSuite partner, 3PL, and integration vendors to their commitments.
• Put change notification and testing expectations in writing.

Metrics you’ll move

• EDI exception rate. Design out the conditions that create exceptions, so fewer reach the queue.
• Cost of errors. Chargebacks, deductions, fines, and rework are visible, attributed to root cause, and trending down.
• Inventory accuracy between NetSuite and the 3PL, by location and lot.
• Retailer compliance: ASN accuracy, fines, and deductions.
• Time to onboard a new trading partner to a clean order-to-invoice cycle.
• Adoption. Fewer workarounds outside our systems; teams use the process as designed.

What you bring

REQUIRED

• 6+ years in business systems or ERP, including functional ownership of a live NetSuite environment.
• Fluency with saved searches and SuiteQL, and enough technical literacy to read scripts and integration logs alongside engineers.
• Working knowledge of EDI-driven order-to-cash with retail and distributor partners (POs, ship notices, invoices, compliance programs, chargebacks), plus experience managing an EDI provider or a 3PL integration.
• A track record leading cross-functional change without direct authority, including adoption of new systems or processes by teams that resisted them, with credibility in both Operations and Finance.
• Experience putting a dollar figure on operational problems and using it to set priorities.
• A calm, structured approach to competing priorities. In past roles, people came to you first because you solved the problem and explained why.
• Practical, everyday use of AI tools for analysis, documentation, or triage.

PREFERRED

• Hands-on EDI operations or mapping.
• NetSuite implementation or functional consulting.
• Owning business applications beyond the ERP, such as EDI, TMS, or AR automation.
• CPG, food & beverage, or distribution. Cold chain or lot-tracked inventory.
• Leading people and managing vendors.
• Comfort working in a git/code-review workflow with internal tools.
• Building AI agents or MCP integrations, or clear eagerness to learn.
• Co-manufacturer data flows.

How this role is scoped

This is a hands-on business systems lead: functional owner, process orchestrator, and change leader. The COO leads engineering and architecture, the EDI & Integrations Specialist works the daily exception queue, and end-user IT sits outside the role. Today the team is you, the Specialist, our partners, and the COO.

What success looks like in year one

• Leadership reviews a monthly cost-of-errors report that ties exceptions, chargebacks, and deductions to dollars and root causes.
• Every functional leader has a documented view of their part of order-to-cash, the tools they use, and an agreed improvement plan.
• One priority list governs systems work, and functional leaders trust how it’s set.
• Teams bring systems problems to you first, and the same problem rarely comes back.
• Inventory flows between NetSuite and our 3PL reconcile by location and lot, with daily controls.
• Change control runs weekly, with sandbox testing, release notes, role-based permissions, and vendor change notification.
• New trading partners onboard from a playbook with an owner, a timeline, and a checklist.
• Every enterprise application has a named owner, a current access review, and a renewal date on the calendar.
• Vendor commitments are tracked and met. Escalations are rare and well documented.
