Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract position as a Special Education Teacher supporting high school students in a resource setting near Franklin and Fairland, IN. Key Qualifications:

Valid Special Education teaching license for the state of Indiana
Experience working with high school students in a resource or specialized setting preferred
Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, parents, and support staff
Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
Commitment to creating an inclusive and positive learning environment

Responsibilities:

Provide tailored instruction and academic interventions to students with varying exceptionalities within the resource classroom
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)
Assess students’ skills and document progress toward educational goals
Adapt curriculum materials and teaching methods to accommodate individual learning styles
Collaborate closely with general education teachers and support staff to ensure student integration and success
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance, goals, and strategies
Maintain accurate records in compliance with school, state, and federal requirements
