Job Summary

Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician position providing technical support to surgeons, registered nurses, and anesthesia providers in the operating room and sterile processing settings. The role supports aseptic practices, instrument and supply management, specimen handling, sterilization processes, and surgical case preparation.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Certified Surgical Technician certification; registration as a Surgical Technician with the State of Colorado; minimum of 5 years of current experience as a Surgical Technician.
• Schedule: Rotating shifts, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Provides technical support during surgical procedures, including arranging supplies and instruments, maintaining accurate counts, passing sterile instruments, assisting with dressings, and preparing and preserving specimens. Responsibilities also include operating sterilizers, validating sterilization tests, verifying packaged supply sterility, cleaning and decontaminating instruments, checking instruments before procedures, maintaining adequate operating room supplies, and applying aseptic practices. The position requires extended periods of standing and walking, heavy lifting, and the ability to work effectively in stressful situations with potential exposure to blood, body fluids, unpleasant sights and odors, and infectious diseases.
