Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Pharmacy Technician to join our hospital pharmacy team. The ideal candidate will hold a current PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification and have experience in a hospital or healthcare setting. This role supports pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory, and ensuring compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications to patients and healthcare providers.

Accurately compound sterile and non-sterile medications under supervision.

Maintain and restock automated dispensing machines and medication carts.

Receive, unpack, and verify incoming pharmaceutical shipments.

Maintain accurate records of medication inventory and controlled substances.

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state, and federal regulations.

Provide excellent customer service to patients, nurses, and other healthcare staff.

Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

Required: Active PTCB Certification (CPhT)

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program preferred.
