Accounts payable supervisor

We are seeking an experienced and team-oriented Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead day-to-day accounts payable operations. You will be responsible for overseeing a team of AP Specialists, ensuring accurate month-end closes, maintaining robust internal controls, and driving process efficiencies within a high-volume corporate environment. This is a fully on-site position offering a base salary in the $85-$105K range plus 10% bonus opportunity.

• Own end-to-end AP disbursements, including electronic payments, checks, independent contractors, and tax payments on a timely schedule.
• Manage corporate expense report policy compliance and review submission guidelines.
• Lead the AP month-end close process, including accruals, reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger postings.
• Monitor key operational metrics, including aging reports, payment accuracy, and processing exception rates.
• Directly manage, coach, and mentor a team of AP professionals, fostering a service-oriented mindset and culture of accountability.
• Oversee team workload distribution, performance tracking, and professional development.
• Continuously evaluate and optimize AP workflows and system capabilities to support organizational scale.
• Maintain strict adherence to internal controls, SOX compliance, and segregation of duties.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal/external audits and annual 1099 filing preparation.
• Act as a cross-functional liaison for Finance, Procurement, and key business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field required preferred.
• Experience: 3-5 years of progressive accounts payable or general accounting experience.
• Leadership: 1-3 years of supervisory, team lead, or senior-level oversight experience managing team workflows or direct reports.
• Technical Skills:
  
  
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data manipulation across multiple workbooks).
  • Hands-on experience with mid-to-large tier ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
• Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with corporate internal controls (SOX environment preferred) and 1099 processes.
