Mechanical Technician

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Field Technician to provide on-site technical support at a customer location in Romulus. This role involves performing general maintenance and repairs on various mechanical equipment. As a customer-facing position, you will be stationed at one customer site without the requirement for travel. Location Romulus, Michigan, is a vibrant city known for its community spirit and strategic location near major transportation hubs, offering a dynamic work environment with access to various amenities. Responsibilities Perform on-site repairs, maintenance, and general service tasks using basic hand tools. Conduct product demonstrations of basic mechanical equipment. Provide maintenance support and training to in-house maintenance staff as needed. Offer technical guidance and expertise where applicable. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School degree (preferred: Associate degree in a technology field, e.g., mechanical, electrical, electronics). Broad knowledge of mechanical hand tools and principles. Understanding of PC applications, including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Ability to use iPads to complete work orders, send/receive email, and attend team calls. Ability to present technical concepts to non-technical individuals. Ability to understand technical diagrams and manuals. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal direction. Adaptability to change and tight deadlines. Must be able to work independently with little supervision. Good customer service and organizational skills are necessary. Ability to reason, communicate, make cognitive decisions, understand deadlines and timelines, and provide accurate results. Flexibility to work extended hours during the workweek and have open availability to work weekends and holidays on an as-needed basis. Must have the ability to lift 60 lbs. or less, carrying and lifting tools and parts weighing up to 20 lbs. Must be able to bend, squat, walk, stand, and/or sit for prolonged periods of time and must be able to carry 50 lbs. May be required to push and pull a cart with equipment weighing up to 60 lbs. Additional Requirements Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods of time. Company tools are provided; however, candidates should have protective footwear (boots required, steel toe recommended but not required) and gloves. Safety goggles and earplugs will be provided on-site.
