- Performing thorough patient evaluations, ordering necessary diagnostic tests, and crafting tailored care plans
- Diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, or chronic conditions either autonomously or in collaboration with physicians
- Instructing patients and their families on preventive measures, wellness strategies, and effective disease management
- Prescribing appropriate medications and treatment modalities within your practice guidelines
- Contributing to patient follow-up initiatives and chronic condition management
- Working within interdisciplinary teams to provide cohesive, holistic patient care
- Maintaining precise and comprehensive documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia
- National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or specialty equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or readiness to acquire these within 90 days)
- Exceptional clinical judgment paired with a nurturing bedside manner
- Strong communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare professionals

- Familiarity with EMR systems and ease with telehealth technology
