Journeyman Electrician $57/hr + $1,246 in weekly per diem

QTS Data Center | Cedar Rapids, IA

Working Hours

6a - 6p Monday Friday

6a - 2:30p Saturday

68 hours per week

A large-scale data center construction project in Cedar Rapids, Iowa is actively hiring Licensed Journeyman Electricians for long-term work. This is an excellent opportunity to join a mission-critical project offering competitive pay, consistent overtime, and daily per diem.

Travelers are welcome to apply if they hold a Journeyman Electrician license from a state with Iowa reciprocity.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, bend, and run EMT and rigid conduit
• Pull wire and perform electrical terminations
• Install switchgear, panels, lighting systems, and cable systems
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and components
• Work with low-voltage and medium-voltage systems
• Support large-scale commercial and industrial electrical construction activities
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with NEC requirements, project specifications, and safety regulations
• Coordinate with foremen, project managers, and other trades on site
• Maintain accurate documentation of installations, testing, and system modifications

What You'll Be Doing

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and one-line diagrams
• Run conduit, pull wire, and install electrical equipment
• Install switchgear, panels, transformers, and service equipment
• Perform testing, commissioning, and startup activities
• Support system energization and project turnover
• Follow safety procedures and electrical codes
• Complete documentation and work records

What We're Looking For

• Active Journeyman Electrician license (or reciprocal state license)
• Commercial or industrial electrical experience
• Ability to read blueprints and electrical drawings
• Experience with conduit, wire installation, and troubleshooting
• Strong safety mindset and reliable attendance

Candidates must possess a valid Journeyman Electrician license from one of the following reciprocal states:

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Denver, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
