HumCap’s client is seeking a Buyer to join their team in Garland, TX. This role is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials to support manufacturing operations while ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Source, evaluate, and purchase high-quality materials and components
- Procure and schedule materials and services to meet production demands
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers
- Maintain awareness of market trends and supplier capabilities
- Interpret technical documents, drawings, and specifications
- Collaborate with engineering on prototypes and R&D initiatives
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Support team purchasing efforts to achieve optimal cost and quality
- Analyze inventory and production needs to ensure supply continuity
- Inspect materials and report quality issues to suppliers and management
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5-7 years of purchasing or supply chain experience
- Experience with ERP systems
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong negotiation and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Indoor production setting with moderate noise
- Exposure to manufacturing equipment
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Occasional bending, stooping, or crouching
- Manual dexterity for handling materials and equipment
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
