Scenic Group US is looking to hire a Sr. Staff Accountant to join our team at our Hollywood, FL corporate office.  
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sr. Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This position will play an important role in supporting the company’s day-to-day accounting operations, month-end closing, account reconciliations, financial and management reporting, and overall accuracy of the general ledger.
The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge and analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience within the cruise, travel, hospitality, or tourism industry is highly preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger accounting activities, including preparing and posting journal entries and maintaining supporting documentation.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and research and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Analyze accounts activity for accuracy, completeness, and proper classification.
• Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial statements. 
• Design and implement internal management reports.
• Perform variance analysis and investigate unusual or unexpected account activity.
• Maintain schedules for accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed, including researching discrepancies and reconciling accounts.
• Support intercompany accounting and reconciliations, as applicable.
• Assist with external audits and provide requested schedules, documentation, and supporting information.
• Ensure accounting transactions and documentation comply with company policies, internal controls, and established accounting procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies.
• Partner with Finance team members and other departments to resolve accounting issues and ensure accurate financial information.
• Assist with special projects, reporting, and other accounting responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Minimum of 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably including experience in a Senior Staff Accountant or similar role.
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and GAAP. NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve discrepancies.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience working with large data sets and experience with Power Query is desirable.
• Experience with accounting/ERP systems required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within an international, multi-entity organization.
• Experience accounting for transactions involving multiple currencies, including foreign currency transactions, reconciliations, and exchange-rate considerations.
• Experience supporting external audits and year-end financial reporting.
• Experience within the cruise, travel, hospitality, or tourism industry highly preferred.
• CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus but not required.
