AI Lead Software Engineer (Corporate Technology)

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal software engineering training or certification, with at least 5 years of applied experience
• Hands-on experience designing and delivering scalable, secure, resilient distributed systems in production
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, with working knowledge of SQL and modern UI frameworks such as React
• Strong understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, and API-first design
• Experience building and operating solutions on public cloud platforms such as AWS, including Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code practices
• Practical experience with API design and integration, such as REST and GraphQL, including security and performance considerations
• Experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and setting standards for validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and security and resiliency expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption
• Preferred: Advanced expertise in object-oriented and system design, and performance optimization for large-scale services
• Preferred: Experience with modern data and search technologies such as Elasticsearch, and databases such as Oracle or MongoDB
• Preferred: Experience developing generative AI solutions, including RAG architecture, orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex, and evaluation practices
• Preferred: Experience creating reusable agent skills, libraries, or patterns for engineering teams
• Preferred: Experience in hybrid technology environments involving cloud services, Databricks, and Kubernetes-based platforms

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of high-quality software that addresses complex business problems using modern engineering practices
• Set architectural direction and make technical decisions that strengthen the scalability, resilience, and availability of distributed systems
• Build and maintain secure, production-ready services, promoting high code quality through reviews, testing, and engineering excellence
• Mentor engineers with technical guidance, pairing, and actionable feedback to strengthen team capability and delivery
• Implement CI/CD automation and reliability practices that enable safe, frequent releases
• Develop data-intensive services and workflows using Java or Scala, working with large datasets and modern data platforms
• Design and build AI-enabled applications, including RAG patterns and agentic workflows, with suitable evaluation and guardrails
• Promote enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes; establish validation standards such as secure coding, peer review, and automated testing, and encourage reuse of effective approaches
• Apply knowledge of the software development lifecycle toolchain, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation
