Resource Acquisition Coordinator, UT Libraries Purpose The Resource Acquisitions Coordinator leads and supports the team responsible for acquiring, receiving, and managing physical and electronic library collections throughout their lifecycle. This position combines operational management with strategic coordination to ensure efficient workflows, timely access, and alignment with emerging technologies and best practices. The Resource Acquisitions Coordinator is a member of the Content Management team. Responsibilities Manages and coordinates workflows for the Resource Acquisitions team, including supervision of salaried and student workers. Collaborates closely with the head of resource acquisition, management, and processing to set team benchmarks and objectives, creating and implementing related policies and procedures. Coordinates day‑to‑day acquisition workflows and works productively with Finance and Scholarly Resources departments to meet fiscal policy requirements. Establishes and documents workflows, processes, and best practices for acquisition and maintenance of collections in all formats. Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely procurement and access to collections content, maintaining accurate descriptive metadata. Collects and analyzes acquisitions and processing data, undertaking project‑based work to support policy and procedural changes. Provides training and support to library staff and users, investigating and resolving issues related to procurement, receipt, processing, or access. Participates in departmental meetings, committees, task forces, and working groups; attends training and development opportunities; stays informed of emerging technologies and trends relevant to acquisitions. Other related functions as assigned. Required Qualifications Master's degree (or equivalent) in library or information science or a related field; a combination of education and experience may be substituted. Experience in acquisitions, resource management, processing, or collections workflows for physical and/or electronic library materials. Understanding of the lifecycle of physical and electronic library collections, including procurement, receipt, access, maintenance, and ongoing management. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving technical, operational, or workflow issues related to acquisition or processing. Excellent communication and facilitation skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to diverse audiences. Forward‑thinking approach with enthusiasm for adopting and integrating new technologies. Preferred Qualifications Experience coordinating or managing acquisitions, resource management, or processing workflows for physical and electronic library collections, including within platforms such as Ex Libris Alma and Primo. Experience implementing, using, or supporting systems and workflows related to ordering, receiving, invoicing, electronic resource management, and collections access. Accustomed to serving as a primary contact for troubleshooting and maintaining acquisitions, processing, or access workflows. Ability to lead and supervise a small team. Knowledge of assessment methods for collections and acquisitions operations, including workflow analysis, vendor performance, usage trends, and operational metrics. Familiarity with collection development and management principles, as well as budgetary and fiscal management best practices. Ability to collaborate effectively and build productive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders at local, regional, and national levels. Evidence of ongoing engagement with trends, standards, and emerging developments in acquisitions, collections management, and technical services. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team in a dynamic and complex environment. Experience documenting procedures and conducting workflow assessments to enhance efficiency and outcomes. Salary Range US$54,000+ depending on qualifications Working Conditions This position is located in Austin, Texas and requires on‑site work. Typical office and library environment. Lifting objects, bending, kneeling, walking, and standing. Lifting and moving up to 50 pounds. Work Shift Flexible work arrangement available between the hours of 7 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday‑Friday, with up to 2 remote days per week after onboarding. Tuesdays are mandatory onsite days.
