Position: Family Medicine Physician – NEMG East Region

Location: 2 Sandy Desert Road, Uncasville CT

Scheduled Hours: 40 (36 clinical/4 administrative hours), 4-day or 3-day flex schedules available

NEMG/YNHHS has entered into a partnership with Mohegan Sun to provide onsite medical services to Casino employee and their dependents as well as Tribal members. The aim of the partnership is to promote health and wellness. To assist with this, NEMG opened an 8,000 sf multispecialty clinic in Uncasville in Spring 2021. The clinic provides care to the general public in the area. The services to be provided include (but not be limited to): Walk In, primary care (Family Med/IM), Physiatry (Center for Musculoskeletal Care), Endocrinology, laboratory and basic imaging. Our care model provides 1:1 medical assistant/MD ratio.

The facility includes: RN/Care Coordination as well as behavioral health resources. Office based procedures as deemed appropriate by specialty and within limits of facility design and licensing. This position may also provide oversight to an additional and developing direct to employer relationship in the region.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients, and treat acute and chronic illnesses
• Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic tests
• Involves patients and their families in care and treatment decisions
• Creates treatment plans and completes orders in patient's charts
• Collaborates on improvements in care delivery and service with staff, other physicians and management
• Initiates appropriate specialty referrals
• Provides clinical information to the interdisciplinary team in a clear and timely manner
• Ensures that proper patient documentation is timely, accurate and complete
• Works with practice management to ensure proper compliance with billing, coding and CPT code assignment
• Achieves and maintains optimal patient access
• Provides interdepartmental medical consultation as requested
• Participates in the development of medical protocols, standard procedures and management of

Qualifications:

• Degree of MD or DO with ABIM-recognized internal medicine residency (three years minimum) or ABFM-recognized family medicine residency (three years minimum)
• BC/BE
• Active, unrestricted CT medical license or in the process of obtaining
