Are you a detail-oriented Mechanical Designer who enjoys transforming engineering concepts into real-world equipment and systems?

We are partnering with a growing industrial engineering organization seeking a Mechanical Designer to support the design, development, and documentation of custom equipment and industrial systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects while collaborating with engineering, project management, procurement, and operations teams.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates with backgrounds in mechanical design, industrial equipment, process systems, manufacturing, packaged equipment, piping design, or engineered-to-order projects.

What You'll Do

• Create detailed 3D models, fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings for industrial equipment and systems
• Develop layouts, general arrangement drawings, and installation documentation
• Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Review engineering documents, drawings, and specifications to support project execution
• Research and select appropriate components, materials, and fabrication methods
• Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met
• Interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, structural drawings, and related engineering documentation
• Support design standardization and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, safety requirements, and quality procedures
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, controls, project management, and operations

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree, Technical Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Design, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• 5-10 years of mechanical design experience in industrial, manufacturing, process, or equipment-focused environments
• Strong proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar 3D design platforms
• Experience creating fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing drawings
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, components, fabrication methods, and manufacturing processes
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Experience

• Piping system design and routing
• Industrial process equipment or packaged systems
• Bluebeam or other drawing review and markup software
• Exposure to controls, instrumentation, or automation systems
• Project-based engineering environments
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes
