About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its national professional medical association. The successful candidate will serve as the chief executive and key management leader, working in partnership with the Board of Governors to advance the organization's mission, strategic priorities, and long-term sustainability. This role requires a strategic, collaborative, and financially sophisticated executive with a proven track record in leading complex, membership-based or healthcare-related organizations. Key responsibilities include fostering a member-centric culture, strengthening strategic partnerships, expanding member engagement, and enhancing the organization's relevance and visibility. The Executive Director will also be responsible for financial leadership, including the development and management of the annual operating budget, and will be expected to identify and develop mission-aligned non-dues revenue opportunities. Candidates for the Executive Director position should ideally possess an advanced degree in a related field, with a preference for a Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation. A minimum of 10 years' executive leadership experience, including oversight of governance, finance, membership, and organizational operations, is required. Experience in a healthcare-related organization, medical society, or professional association is highly advantageous. The ideal candidate will have strong financial acumen, experience in developing diversified revenue streams, and a proven ability to lead organizational change and innovation. Emotional intelligence, exceptional communication, and a collaborative leadership style grounded in transparency and accountability are essential. Knowledge of the osteopathic profession and current healthcare trends is also beneficial.
