WAGE RATE: Between $20.00-$24.00 Hourly depending on Education, Experience, and Knowledge

PROBATION PERIOD: Six Months from Date of Hire and can be Continued if Management Directs

Position Summary: Lease Coordinator is responsible for assisting with rent determinations, interims and all matters concerning the calculations of tenant rents for both state public housing and voucher housing including HUD Section 8. Other duties include assisting the Program Manager and Director of Leased Housing in general rent and leasing duties including review of applicants and the waiting list.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Rent Calculations including initial and interim, reconcile & calculate past due rent amounts
2. Assist Program Manager with tenant selection process on CHAMP
3. Date Entry including CHAMP/Section 8 Applications
4. Prepare recertification packages and follow-up where necessary
5. Assist with general leasing duties
6. Audits files to ensure overall regulatory compliance
7. Assist Walk-ins by answering questions on MCDA Programs and Grants
8. Any other tasks and responsibilities as directed by Management

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Program Director and/or designee or as directed by Management

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES

1. Knowledge of Massachusetts public housing such as the 667 & 689 housing programs
2. General Knowledge of public housing software systems: CHAMP, PHA-WEB, HAFIS
3. Within one year of hire must complete MA NAHRO Occupancy Cycle course
4. High school diploma
5. Valid Massachusetts Driver's License
6. Competence in personal computer skills including Microsoft Office including Excel
7. Successfully pass a drug/alcohol and physical exam as well as CORI and employment background check.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to walk and/or drive to rental units both up and down stairs and lift and/move up to 30 pounds. The work involves physical skills typical of an office environment, including sitting, standing, walking and stooping. Visual demands require routinely reading documents for general understanding and analytical purposes and frequent computer usage.
