Senior Project Engineer

Accentuate Staffing is working with an established manufacturer of engineered mechanical products in the Oxford area to recruit a Senior Project Engineer. This position will own high-impact development programs and help move new and improved products from early concepts through validation, production launch, and ongoing lifecycle support.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on mechanical product design with disciplined project leadership. This engineer will evaluate complex designs, apply analytical and new-product-development tools, manage schedules and risks, and coordinate closely with manufacturing, quality, procurement, suppliers, sales, and customers.

Responsibilities:

• Lead mechanical product-development projects from concept definition and feasibility through prototype, validation, production launch, and lifecycle improvement.
• Build and manage project plans, milestones, budgets, risks, decisions, and deliverables while communicating clear status and resolving roadblocks.
• Develop and assess medium-to-complex designs using CAD, engineering calculations, FEA or flow analysis, tolerance studies, and data-driven design reviews.
• Apply DFMEA, DFM/DFA, validation planning, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action methods to improve performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability.
• Coordinate technical work across manufacturing, quality, test, procurement, sales, suppliers, and customers; ensure a clean handoff into operations.
• Prepare specifications, drawings, reports, manuals, and other product documentation while mentoring junior engineers and improving engineering practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Seven or more years of relevant experience designing and developing mechanical products; experience with medium-to-complex assemblies is strongly preferred.
• Proven success leading new-product or product-improvement projects through production, including schedule, budget, risk, and stakeholder management.
• Proficiency with mechanical CAD; SolidWorks experience is preferred. Experience with FEA, flow analysis, GD&T, and tolerance stack-ups is highly valued.
• Working knowledge of DFMEA/FMEA, DFM/DFA, design reviews, validation, root-cause analysis, and engineering standards such as ASME, ASTM, ISO, or SAE.
• Strong meeting leadership, written and verbal communication, initiative, prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration skills; PMP or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
