Piping Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a Piping Engineer for a contract opportunity in Tempe, AZ. This role is ideal for an engineering professional with 3 to 5 years of experience who is ready to support piping design, layout, technical coordination, and project execution in a collaborative engineering environment.

The Piping Engineer will contribute to engineering deliverables that support safe, efficient, and reliable project outcomes. Key Responsibilities

- Develop and support piping design deliverables, layouts, specifications, and related engineering documentation.
- Review project requirements, drawings, calculations, and technical data to ensure alignment with applicable standards and project expectations.
- Coordinate with engineering, design, project management, construction, and other technical teams to support timely project execution.
- Assist with resolving piping design issues, constructability concerns, and technical questions during project development.
- Support quality checks, drawing reviews, and documentation updates to maintain accuracy and consistency.
- Communicate project status, technical concerns, and recommended solutions clearly to internal stakeholders.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay range: $43.00 to $49.00 per hour.
- Job type: Contract/Temporary.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support piping engineering and design activities for project-based engineering work.
- Prepare, review, and update piping layouts, technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams to resolve design and technical issues.
- Contribute to project quality, schedule adherence, and accurate engineering deliverables.

- 3 to 5 years of experience in piping engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related engineering role.
- Working knowledge of piping systems, piping design principles, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
- Ability to interpret specifications, codes, standards, project requirements, and design criteria.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify issues, recommend solutions, and maintain high-quality deliverables.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with engineers, designers, project managers, and field or construction teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities in a deadline-driven project environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, facilities, energy, semiconductor, or process-related engineering projects.
- Familiarity with 2D or 3D piping design tools, CAD platforms, or plant design software.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
- Knowledge of piping materials, pipe supports, equipment layouts, and constructability considerations.
