Fire Alarm Systems Associate Project Manager

Position location: The role supports our Albuquerque, New Mexico branch location, which serves customers throughout the greater Albuquerque, New Mexico area. Responsibilities Support the project manager during all phases of the project including milestone deliverables, documentation, case management, and financial aspects. Develop and deliver monthly status reports, customer progress reports, customer change proposals, and presentations to management and internal/external stakeholders, and drive final customer acceptance milestones including completion of all documentation requirements, commissioning, acceptance, and closing financial documentation. Organize and deliver small‑scale projects while managing finance, schedule, change orders, and customers; coordinate the project schedule and needs with the project and site teams; identify time‑sensitive project needs. Track resources and project progress; participate in customer meetings, drive discussions on behalf of project managers, and capture notes from project start to close, including punch list meetings, and coordinate punch list closure with field service technicians, customer care, project managers, factory personnel, and vendors. Document project events that impact the acceptance schedule, scope of work, and project efficiency; identify solutions, review with the project manager, and drive actions to minimize schedule and cost impact; provide project documentation including scope, drawings, specifications, engineered drawings, contacts, etc. for field service technicians. Schedule project‑specific commissioning resources and provide commissioning documentation; ensure field service personnel have reviewed documentation ahead of site visit. Expedite return of project‑specific markups and support completion of project‑specific close‑out documentation; own and drive all aspects of the close milestone processing to achieve timely and clean project quality gates. Work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers. Qualifications Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or state‑recognized GED. Experience (on‑the‑job or education) with project management and engineering. Knowledge and understanding of fire alarm systems and ability to read and understand basic electrical drawings and customer specifications. Experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project. Must be 21 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license with limited violations, and meet eligibility requirements to participate in the fleet vehicle program. Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications Construction industry experience. Associate degree in engineering or related field. Technical experience in the commercial fire alarm industry. Knowledgeable in local and national (NFPA) fire alarm codes and regulations; ability to read and understand drawings and specifications, electrical, network, and control wiring diagrams. The actual wage offered may vary based on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
