Senior AWS Data Engineer
Location: Onsite – East Memphis -TN (Germantown area) | Open to St. Louis Missouri for the right candidate Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct-Hire
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AWS Data Engineer to join our team and lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust, scalable data pipelines on our enterprise AWS platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, build data solutions, and ensure high standards for data quality, performance, and availability.
This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a data-driven transformation using cutting-edge AWS services in a modern, event-driven architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Develop Data Pipelines: Build scalable, efficient, and maintainable data pipelines using AWS Glue, Lambda, Redshift, EventBridge, and other relevant AWS services.
- Data Modeling & Architecture: Design robust data models and data flows optimized for analytics, reporting, and performance.
- Data Integration: Integrate structured and unstructured data from various sources including APIs, RDBMS, and streaming platforms.
- ETL & Data Transformation: Develop and optimize ETL workflows to transform raw data into analytics-ready datasets.
- Data Quality & Governance: Implement and monitor data quality checks, data governance processes, and ensure compliance with relevant data regulations.
- Monitoring & Optimization: Continuously monitor pipeline performance and reliability. Implement performance tuning and scaling strategies.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to understand data needs and deliver effective solutions.
- Documentation & Best Practices: Maintain thorough documentation of data pipelines, data models, and technical specifications. Promote and adhere to industry best practices.

Candidate Profile
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience in building data pipelines using AWS Glue and Lambda
- Expertise in Redshift data modeling and performance tuning
- Solid understanding of event-driven architecture using AWS EventBridge
- Proficient in Python and SQL for data processing and transformation
- Knowledge of data governance and quality frameworks
- Experience with CI/CD tools and practices in a data engineering context
