Gifts and Grants Manager - Temporary

Why We Need You We are seeking a temporary, full-time Supervisor, Gifts & Grants to ensure continuity of critical grant and restricted fund operations during a high-demand period, including year-end close and audit activities. This role provides hands‑on, end‑to‑end management of gifts and grants, supporting both proposal development and post‑award financial oversight to maintain compliance and service levels across the Museum. This is a temporary position expected to continue through October 31, 2026. What You’ll Accomplish Manage the full lifecycle of gifts and grants, including proposal support, award setup, financial tracking, reporting, and closeout. Partner with Advancement and internal stakeholders to develop and submit grant proposals, including budgets and required documentation. Ensure budgetary and financial information is accurate, complete, timely, and compliant with donor restrictions, grant agreements, and applicable regulations. Monitor expenditures against gifts and grants, ensuring alignment with restrictions and contractual commitments and identifying and resolving issues as needed. Maintain accurate records of restricted fund activity, including commitments, expenditures, pledges, and balances across systems. Support month‑end and year‑end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation and respond to auditor requests related to financial and grant audits. Process and review invoices, payment requests, and transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with award requirements. Provide day‑to‑day guidance to departments regarding allowable spending, restrictions, and fund availability. Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy across financial data, proposals, and compliance documentation. Collaboration: Works effectively across Finance, Advancement, and program teams. Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves compliance, budget, or documentation issues in a timely manner. Communication: Clearly explains grant and financial requirements to non‑financial stakeholders. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience managing grants, restricted funds, or nonprofit finance across the full award lifecycle. Experience with grant proposal development, budgeting, and post‑award financial management. Knowledge of restricted fund accounting, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and/or Uniform Guidance.
