Development Project Manager - (Q-Systems: Security)

About QTS QTS designs, builds and operates some of the world’s most advanced data centers, positioning the company as a global leader in digital infrastructure. What You Will Do Manage projects across multiple campuses, overseeing design and implementation budgets, schedules, and status reports. Review project designs to ensure compliance with QTS system standards and Basis of Design documents. Review system installations to ensure compliance with system design. Oversee commissioning efforts to confirm systems operate in compliance with QTS system standards, Basis of Design and design documents. Implement and manage multi‑phased site development plans to achieve time, budget, and quality standards predictably. Continuously update a campus master plan to provide predictable statistics in a dynamic environment. Evaluate and evaluate pricing proposals for technology design, construction, and commissioning services. Monitor and track project schedules and manage teams to ensure on‑time completion. Identify scheduling or implementation obstacles and proactively remove obstacles detrimental to project schedules. Establish and maintain relationships serving as liaisons with key QTS stakeholders. Represent QTS interests as a leader in OAC and low‑voltage meetings. Collaborate with the internal development team to enhance project management processes and protocols. Develop relationships with QTS Facility Operations and Technology teams to understand their needs and deliver technologies that support facility operations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Science or Engineering or equivalent professional experience. 4–8 years of professional experience in technology systems – security, and/or network infrastructure design and/or implementation. Experience with Microsoft Office suite. Ability to travel up to 50% of the time; average travel anticipated every other week for 2–3 days. U.S. citizenship required due to federal customer contracts. Key Skills Direct experience in the construction of data centers, critical medical, industrial, construction, oil and gas, or large‑scale technology systems. Strong knowledge of technology industry standards, procedures, and methodologies. Advanced knowledge of technology systems and their integration into mission‑critical environments. Proven ability to communicate complex technical issues to leadership or non‑engineers. Project management or project lead experience in large‑scale projects. Basic multidisciplinary knowledge of mission‑critical systems, design process, pre‑construction requirements, and the construction process. Ability to manage implementation contractors. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization. Team‑player with strong problem‑solving skills at tactical and functional levels. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
