Sustaining Engineer

Design EngineerOpportunity for a Design Engineer to join Micro-Motion's US R&D team. This individual will be a member of the Sustaining Engineering Team and the primary responsibility of this role is to support Micro-Motion's existing product lines. Micro-Motion products are used in an array of medical devices including surgical tools as well as in aerospace and other industrial applications. The Design Engineer will be responsible for supporting technical problem solving and processing change requests.The R&D team is an essential component of Micro-Motion's growth strategy, requiring creative, effective, and flexible candidates able to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This position will report into our Sustaining Engineering Manager and is located in West Chester, PA.Along with those identified below, other duties may be assigned.Work closely with cross-functional teams to support existing productsFacilitate change requests, which includes Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)Work with Manufacturing and Quality teams on technical problem-solving initiatives to provide design improvementSupport customer RMA analysis to provide sustainable solutionsInteract with Application Engineering and customers to ensure design solutions meet the customer's expectationsSupport VAVE initiatives to control costChampion the company's culture and core values: Integrity, Responsibility, Diversity, Engagement & Inclusion, Customer Success, Innovation with Purpose, Continuous Improvement, Performance, Passion to Win, all with a Sense of Urgency.Critical CompetenciesHigh sense of urgency and results drivenStrong communication and project management skills are requiredAbility to work in a cross functional, manufacturing environmentDemonstrated ability to use data & designed experiments to make decisions & solve problemsDemonstrated proficiency in time and project managementExperience participating in DFMEA/PFMEA eventsFamiliarity with various manufacturing processes (Examples such as: Laser welding, transfer molding, assembly techniques, CNC machining)Familiarity with inspection and measurement tools (CMM, caliper, micrometer, gauges)Familiarity with CAD modeling, tooling design, and 3D printingPreferred exposure to Product Development Life Cycle (PLDC) of a manufactured product from concept to launchPreferred exposure to Engineering Change ManagementPreferred experience with Solidworks and Oracle ERP softwareRequirementsUndergraduate degree in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or related field3+ years manufacturing or design experienceA strong understanding of quality systems and other process improvement toolsExperience with electric motors or precision rotating equipment preferredExperience with QS and ISO requirements is preferredExperience with Microsoft Office SuiteCandidates must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring company sponsorship to obtain or keep U.S. work authorization.Expected Base Salary Range: $90,000 to $104,000The salary range provided is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation for this position.
