In this role, you will be responsible for cutting, edging, and finishing optical lenses with precision and efficiency. You'll help ensure our customers receive high-quality, accurately crafted eyewear by maintaining strict adherence to quality standards and production timelines.Responsibilities:Operate lens cutting, edging, and finishing machines according to production specificationsLoad lenses into machines and input proper measurements or cutting instructionsInspect lenses for defects and imperfections before and after cuttingMaintain cleanliness and organization of machinery and workstationStart-up and shut down of machine per scheduled shiftConduct daily, weekly, and monthly routine maintenanceAssist with machine troubleshooting and escalate mechanical problemsWork collaboratively with other team members to meet daily production goalsSupport cross-training and continuous improvement efforts in the labMust Haves:Previous experience operating machinery in a production or manufacturing environmentStrong attention to detail, especially with small parts or delicate materialsAbility to follow precise measurements and technical instructionsComfortable working with hands and tools for extended periodsStrong visual acuity and manual dexterityAbility to follow written and verbal instructions in EnglishAbility to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with a teamAbility to learn and adapt to new processes and procedures quicklyForklift certified a plusBi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plusAuthorized to work in the U.S.Working Environment:Work is performed primarily in an optical laboratory settingEnvironment often fast-paced and deadline orientedMay work alone in lab as necessary or with partnerExposure to dusts, fumes, glass and/or plastic lens particulates, standard chemicals found in optical lab (some of which may be caustic), metal alloy (solid and melted), moderately high levels of noise, fluorescent lighting, cleaning agents and electrical energyWill be working primarily with small manual tools (screwdriver, pliers, etc.), lenses, frames, and automated laboratory equipmentThis environment requires:Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours per day per scheduled shift)Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to approximately 45 lbs.Must possess excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skillsMust possess excellent finger and manual dexterity, control precision, steady hands/armsThis role is onsite at ROKA Headquarters; Monday - FridayBenefits Include:Employee and industry discountsFun and casual but high-performance atmosphereOnsite corporate gymHealth, dental, vision & FSA, employer paid life insuranceVacation and sick leave401(k) with matchGym membership stipendPaid maternity (16 weeks) and paternity (8 weeks) leave
