Card Services Specialist I - Bilingual (English/Spanish)

General Information: Primary Location: 5537 Glenwood; Employee Status: Full-Time; Workplace Type: Fully On-Site. Card Services Specialist I – Overview LMCU is looking for a Card Services Specialist I who supports members and staff with credit card and account services, including issue handling, fraud monitoring, and Spanish language interpretation. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment. Responsibilities Assists members and staff with telephone requests regarding card servicing, answers questions about products and services, and resolves problems within authority. Refers problems beyond authority to the supervisor, along with recommendations. Serves as an on‑call interpreter for Spanish‑language member‑facing support, including member meetings, transactions, explaining financial products, resolving language issues, and clarifying policies. Prevents fraud by correctly identifying members using call identification procedures. Reports suspicious activities or potential security breaches to appropriate personnel. Provides members with information and direction regarding account status, requests, payments, and rights and obligations. Actively participates in employee‑led coaching sessions with supervisors and takes ownership of personal coaching goals. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications One to three years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience. High school diploma or equivalent (required); some college coursework or banking experience is a plus. Proficiency in spoken English and Spanish, with the ability to interpret between multiple parties. Completion of a telephone‑based language proficiency assessment during the application process.
