Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring STEMI and Stroke facility experience with EPIC proficiency.

Details

Emergency Department caring for combined adult and pediatric patients in a non-trauma, STEMI and Stroke certified facility
Special care populations include cancer, sepsis, medical emergencies, and behavioral health
Hospital specialties include cath lab, women's health, and stroke care
Patient ratio of 1:4
Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (occasional 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM shifts as needed)
EOW and holiday coverage required as needed
No call requirements
May float to any Cone Health campus as needed
EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

Active RN license (NC or Compact) required, must be in hand at time of consideration
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Emergency Department setting
EPIC charting system experience required
Must pass a compliance EKG exam (Pass/Fail, two attempts allowed)
Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, triage, and isolation precautions/PPE
Experience with IV therapy and phlebotomy

Additional Information

Provide emergency nursing care across all age groups including trauma, cardiac, neurological, and behavioral health cases
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local rates apply
RTO must be submitted with initial application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
Third-party education verification required
No open background check cases permitted
Orientation includes non-billable modules averaging 2-4 hours, with hours varying by unit
